Sakuya Suzuka is the one of the original characters of the 2017 mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. She first appeared in August 2019 in the event Crimson Resolve.

A genius athlete and a Magical Girl who belongs to Promised Blood. Her purpose in life is to run, and her motto is "complete combustion". She has the concentration to work on something until she burns out, but she can't show this when it comes to her studies.

Side Story

The following is a summary by muzass96.

Sakuya is depressed that she can't go running with her friends to the fullest anymore. When Sakuya comes to deliver a report, Yuna notices that she doesn't look well and asks Hikaru to follow her to see what she can find out. Hikaru discovers Sakuya running through a lifeless neighborhood at full speed at night. Yet it doesn't make her happy anymore. So Hikaru blows her cover, wanting to help her and suggests asking Yuna for advise.

After a thorough talk, Yuna realizes Sakuya just likes running for the thrill of overcoming and giving your all and doesn't give a damn about fame and all the like. But her advantages of being a magical girl deprive her of said thrill.

Afterwards, all three of them stumble upon a witch, but the battle goes badly. Sakuya is depressed and can't fight properly, and Hikaru can't fight properly because she's worried about Sakuya. Least to say, Yuna is having none of it and suggests a new routine for Sakuya by having her train her concentration skills and teach Hikaru while she's at it. After all, psychological training is vital for accomplishing the most difficult sports' achievements. And magic won't help her with that.

Sakuya is training Hikaru's reaction and concentration in the Mirror Witch's Labyrinth on Yuna's watch. After considerable progress is shown, Yuna praises her. Then she confesses she suggested it so Sakuya could try her hand at being a coach, so she ends up learning to treasure someone else's achievements as much as her own and shifts her focus. Sakuya realizes it actually worked and she finds as much joy in the milestones she helped to reach. In the end, she became a coach of the same athletic club she is part of.
