Crossovers
Hello, I see you've been uploading crossover images! I've also been slowly collecting them over time. I was planning to post them once I was done going through my list, but it's admittedly going very slowly. I have a Word doc that lists the images I've already collected and has links to find more, would you like to have it too so we can coordinate better? It's a bit messy since it wasn't meant to be a public document and it doubles as my "merchandise to be added" list, but it would help us avoid doing twice the work.
By the way, the full names for logres and shiropro are 剣と魔法のログレス いにしえの女神 and 御城プロジェクト:RE respectively.--AlsoArei (talk) 04:04, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
I did a big search on google for lots of images, it is hard but i did well for some. i like seeing new art from colaborations! :0D I would like to work together it sounds fun! Thankyou!
With all the titles on my page, i have images for. Not all is uploaded cause it takes a long time to do lol. Im not so good at the names if the japanese logo doesnt have the english name on it lmao, i unse online translating tools. knwoing the full english names for logres and shiropro would be helpful :0(
Okay, here's the doc I mentioned: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Vm2XBCKUkIsxSEaXeiAryOok55SQ6xZS/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=117945014437797197518&rtpof=true&sd=true On top there's a list of images that I either couldn't find or I'm not satisfied with the quality ('dead' and 'alive' means whether the game is still in service), then some left-over links, and in the collabs section is every image I've gathered links for. I marked the collabs I already downloaded pictures for with a line next to the name, and the latest completed one is the one in red (so Othellonia right now). The links go above the name of the collab they belong to (so it's link-link-title, not title-link-link).
By the way, I'm also considering making a page for the Valkyrie Connect collab like what we have with Divine Gate, since there's an official English translation and we can do summaries for it. There's two side stories that have only been uploaded to Youtube in Spanish, but I can handle that part. So if you feel like helping with that, feel free!
As for the English names, one's Shiro Project, and the other is Logres of Sword and Sorcery: Goddess of Ancient.--AlsoArei (talk) 20:51, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
OK it is a bit confusing but i will look at it more carefully when im done uploading my images. I have left logres, princess punt, battle cats, thousand memories, unision connect and vaalkyrie connect. That sounds like a good idea. my idea was to make a page with a list of the collabs with links to full pages if it exists, like divine gate. i cant translate but i can do images. Thankyou for the names aswell :0)
Misc
Hello, I noticed you've been adding all the Online cards to the character galleries. I'm a bit concerned it'll bloat the pages too much, though, especially since the sprites are all the same with different clothes. What do you think of only adding the drawn pictures, like this one? That way we won't have every outfit thrice on the same page (once in the group picture, once in the clothes card and once in the skill card). You could add the rest to Online's gallery page, since it was left relatively empty after the fanart wipe.
I also saw some art from the Mobcast game. I've actually been working on a page for it, but I'm not sure what to call it. The one official article in English I found calls it Beginnings/Eternal (well, it actually uses a much longer name that can be shortened to that) but it might cause confusion. Madoka Mobcast might be clearer, but it runs up against the fact that Madoka Plus also involved Mobcast. (Granted, not sure how many people know about that, or about Madoka Plus in general). What do you think?
Also, I think that the grief seed you added to the Magia Record page is actually Durbar's, judging the bottom emblem against the grief seed from episode 18. Would you be okay with me merging the entries? --AlsoArei (talk) 00:29, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
I think the chibi cards are fine in the gallerys, it doesnt take up too much space. i think they are cute aswell. i wont include the crops cards of the full images (which i only decide recently). some gallerys still have those images because i have not changes it yet
i thought madoka magica mobcast just fits in good with naming scemes. i would like to maybe see the page if you can share, i have a few informations on it too. I forgot to look at the other grief seeds, you can change any thing wrong.
They do take up a fair chunk of space, though. Right now, the Kyoko cards take up almost the entire screen by themselves if I scroll to fit them all in. I checked the Online wiki and there are roughly 50 Kyoko cards (excluding different rarities of the same outfit), of which 17 are currently uploaded here. If they all were uploaded, the cards would by themselves make up the second largest section in the gallery, second only to the collaboration section and over twice as big as the Rebellion section. That's before we consider that we'll also show those outfits through the drawn images, which adds up to 100+ pictures for just the Online section (since there will also be promotional images and such there). This would make Online the single largest section in the gallery, roughly 1/3 bigger than the runner-up, the aforementioned collaborations. One possible solution to this is to edit all the sprite cards into a single big file, kind of like what was done for this Mobage translation, and upload that. This would reduce the space taken up by the image margins (which are almost as big as the picture itself in this case) and the load shouldered by both the user's internet and the wiki's server (since it'd be loading one thumbnail instead of fifty.)
(On that topic, I think we should avoid having repeat images. Meaning when there's two pictures are basically the same except for some sparkles or a different background, like the ones for Kaden Shoujo or Divine Gate)
Re:Mobcast, I do have a preliminary page written up in my computer but it needs to be updated. Once I do that I'll post it on my personal page and we can see if anything needs to be changed. I don't speak a lick of Chinese and had to use google translate in order to gather information, so there may be some mistakes. --AlsoArei (talk) 21:01, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
Entire screen? i see, like on the phone screen. there cant be that many images.... if it is borthering you that much i can combine them in to one image. the kaden shoujo ones ARE different and divine gate is special characters. please dont remove them without telling me.
I'm talking about how it shows up on my computer screen. Each gallery line is 7 images long and the screen can show three lines at once. Therefore 7x3=21 images is an entire screen's worth, and 100-ish images take up five screens. Does it look different on your computer?
I haven't removed them. I'm not sure what you mean by 'special characters', but for Kaden Shoujo, while tecnically they're different pictures, the only differences are the size, the background and the text. The text is imo not very relevant to a gallery page, especially since most visitors won't be able to read it since it's in Japanese. The background is just pure blackness, not much different from the previous image's white. As for the size, surely it'd be better for the wiki to only save the image with the most pixels. A big image can trivially be made smaller by most people, but it's much harder to correct the blurriness of zooming into a small picture, and a bigger image also makes it easier for people to make out details in it. As such, I don't see much benefit in keeping both pictures. --AlsoArei (talk) 01:28, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
