Concept
Wasu originally spoke in a boyish manner using the boku pronoun in Gen Urobuchi's script, which Urobuchi had based on Inu Curry's Note.[note 1] Akiyuki Shinbo, who held Aim for the Ace's "Madame Butterfly" (Ryūzaki Reika) as his ideal upperclasswoman, asked Gekidan Inu Curry if he could change how Wasu spoke. After Gekidan Inu Curry agreed, Shinbo had Shaft producer Miku Ōshima rewrite Wasu's lines in an ojō-sama style.[1]
Trivia
- The name "Wasu" was never mentioned once in Walpurgisnacht: Rising, except in ending credits.
Observations
- The name Wasu first appeared in the Concept Movie's early plot outline.
- Wasu's Magical Girl ring in Walpurgisnacht: Rising is written ANONYMOUS ("Anonymous") in Archaic and lacks a gem on the back side of her ring.
- Wasu's Magical Girl/Witch Girl outfit resembles Homura's Magical Girl outfit in early concepts.
Etymology
- Since the name Wasu (ワス) is written with katakana, multiple meaning can be given to it. However, it likely originates from said Witch Girl's original Witch name when written in Japanese, Walpurgisnacht (ワルプルギスの夜)
Notes
- ↑ Shinbo described this as ボク喋り (Boku-shaberi) in the interview
