I'm debating putting up the manga series that goes with the mobile game, but I'm not sure if I should put up the Japanese only ones, scanlations, or both. And secondly, should they go in their own gallery page since there's at least 18 pages so far? Sondenise 20:15, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Should we start an english menu/gameplay guide on this wiki?

I know that the Madoka online game which rests forever beneath us had a menu and gameplay guide of the sorts on this wiki, but I'm not sure how long that took to compile. If it doesn't exist by the time I manage to get everything in the game set up, I'll do something. Maybe a Quick Start page linked prominently from the main page, and two more pages for in-depth gameplay and for translated storylines? The only hard parts of setting up Madoka Online stuff were translating the Japanese and finding reports about actual errors people ran into and how they worked around them. There's some hiragana on the Japanese gamerch and appmedia sites, like https://magireco.gamerch.com/%E7%B4%94%E7%BE%8E%E9%9B%A8 and http://appmedia.jp/magireco/938556 (ちゅん Chun instead of Chen) and while looking for a voice line I saw the same hiragana in a video of the game UI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt47LtKlpR4 The JP wikis seem to be copying the in game profile text too. I'm currently finalizing the new wiki setup, what would you think if we have separate wiki instance for Magireco gameplay? (But with shared accounts, assets, etc. with the main wiki pool, in similar way that Wikipedia/Wikipedia Commons/Wiktionary etc. works). -- 0x99 08:56, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure what all the implications would be or if it would matter if it's a separate instance, as long as we can use images from and links to the non-magireco stuff just as easily, and the accounts are the same with no permissions issues. As for wikia, that whole site sucks and it's not a coincidence that so many games have independent wikis splitting off, often on bad terms with wikia administration. Magireco itself is unpredictable though, since they're already making us jump through hoops to play it and the future of the English community is unclear. KM 15:46, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

So I realize this is resurrecting an ancient discussion, but I for one would prefer to have all Madoka stuff in one place rather than having to check two different wikis. Though I'm not personally interested in a gameplay guide at this time, I would be interested in seeing a lot of screenshots of all the typical in-game screens, including from the North American version if anyone has any old ones around, or with translations if they're from the Japanese or Chinese version. I've also been thinking of porting the skills page from the other wiki, and maybe adding a page listing in-game items.

I'd be down if you wanted to port all the status effects and skill icons onto the character pages. Maybe add the icon to the memoria template somehow?

As for English game guides, all the stuff I wrote for Gamepress for the NA server is still up. We can take the screenshots that are there and you can add them to an NA server page to help preserve the images. (You can tell it was me because Kako was my first waifu. And, you know, it says "by sondenise" at the top of most of the articles so it should be fair game for us to use whatever is there.) I got started on it (see Iroha and Ultimate Madoka) but there are two things I'm uncertain on. First, should the doppel use the same icon as the magia, or is no icon correct? Secondly, should the EX skill use an icon? It makes sense to me that it would have an icon, since it applies an effect in your magical girls' status (as I know from experience due to getting Ultimate Madoka from supports), but the Fandom wiki doesn't record an icon for EX skills. I would like to have an icon for the doppels/2nd magias, but I would not just duplicate it. Some girls like Homura have different effects for their magias as opposed to their doppels. There aren't many but there are more than a handful with differing doppel effects. The game only uses a "doppel icon", aka the disc you would tap in battle, so I don't know that that would really help anything unless we were to put in the appropriate icon on our own to match what it says in the description. The ex skill, however, does have it's own unique skill icon assigned and I would definitely put that one in for those it applies to.Sondenise (talk) 17:39, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

The reason I want to settle this question before updating them all is because the way I built it so far means that second magia can have an icon, but doppel cannot. So if we need doppel to have an icon, then I need to make some changes, but if it's fine that all doppels have no icon, I can proceed with the current form. Crossover characters

I was wondering how we should set up the information for the crossover characters that already have their own respective character pages? I'm talking about the game information for say Madoka and Oriko. I was thinking of setting up a single page with all of the crossover characters listed and posting only the game info that's relevant rather than putting extensive character history and summaries since they already have that. I could post it under Magia Record Characters as "Crossover characters" and then backlink to them on their character pages

I've really fallen behind the past two weeks. Well, stats have to go somewhere, and the character pages seem OK and leave lots of room for details. Stats pages for crossovers should have the same format as stats for new characters so it'll be consistent for players looking things up. If all the stats are going in individual character pages, there could be something like a "Madoka Kaname in MagiReco" page with the gameplay data and links back and forth to her main page. Well so far I set it up on the Talk:Magia Record Characters page in similar format to the MagiReco character pages. I've also so far limited the gallery to just the game specific images like their different rarity cards and memoria cards. I'm just trying to figure out how to link it on the character page. How about something like this added to Magia Record Characters below the original characters table and above the witches?

I would like to suggest splitting up all of the character pages to have:

• one page for factual game data: stats, material requirements, memoria etc (basically everything you can see in-game's for each character)
• another page like the current character pages describing the character's history, involvement in the story and so on

They could be separated as Iroha Tamaki and Iroha Tamaki (Magia Record), with links at the top to switch between the two. Then it would also match your plans for Madoka and the rest. --Knon 22:11, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

I was considering moving some of the character event summaries to their own page much like the Christmas event and New years event had their own specific summary page and then listing them on the Magia Record Story page under their own heading. This is right before Eve appears in the part after the tutorial. The runes translate to 'Bitte, findet sie mich' translated, 'Please, find me'. Because it appears right before Eve does, could this be a call for help from Ui's side as early as then?
