Doppel Description

The Doppel of harmony.
Its form is ham.
The master of this emotion is unhappy with both the appearance and behavior of her Doppel. In contrast to her own desires to achieve great deeds through her own hard work, this Doppel creates an endless stream of wealth to satisfy the desires of her relatives in an attempt to preserve family peace. Though this is only a short-lived harmony. She believes that it exists in contrast to her own goals and prefers to keep it hidden. However, she may one day find that she needs this Doppel to protect the harmony between her family, no matter how fragile that harmony might be.

| **Unique to Tsuruno Yui** There is an old Chinese restaurant in the vestiges of the town's lower part. During war time, the girl's great-grandfather and grandfather learned the skills of cooking Chinese food while being in the field to stay alive. When they returned home, they started to run a Chinese restaurant. The appearance and taste of the food offered seemingly leaves many people with the impression of "average." | |||

Tsuruno finishes a practice fight with Rena Minami. She then challenges Momoko Togame and Kaede Akino but the three girls are reluctant to fight her. Tsuruno says she has to train more to become stronger. When Momoko asks Tsuruno why she wants to be strong, Tsuruno explains why she became a magical girl. Her great-grandfather set up a Chinese restaurant, which her grandfather made into the number one place in Kamihama, or so Tsuruno says. However, when her father took over, the restaurant's ratings and customers dropped. Meanwhile, her grandmother and mother are concerned only about luxuries, to the point where they tried to sell the keepsakes of Tsuruno's grandfather and great-grandfather simply because they wanted to buy a car. When offered a contract, Tsuruno wished to win the 800 million yen grand prize in the lottery. However, her grandmother and mother took the money and ran away on a luxury passenger cruise. Tsuruno still insists they're just on a trip. She claims that she wants to be strong, because she believes her grandfather and great-grandfather were strong as well. When Rena points out that Tsuruno's strength might be different, Tsuruno claims her grandfather used to say that all human strength is the same at the root. She thinks if she becomes strong and energizes her family, all her problems will be solved. She says it's her duty to revive the Yui family, which used to be high class. Tsuruno challenges Rena again, but Rena shows her something she found on the internet. Apparently there's a person in Kamihama that gives advice. She suggests Tsuruno go see that person in order to become stronger. Tsuruno decides she'll go there the next day and leaves. Meanwhile, Momoko's group are relieved to not deal with Tsuruno. The next day, Tsuruno heads to a stand called "Emiri's Room". Akira Shinobu then shows Tsuruno to the counselor, Emiri Kisaki. Emiri tells Tsuruno to talk to her, saying when people do so they feel refreshed. She says she loves talking to people herself, and built the advice stand because everyone suggested she make one. Tsuruno decides to leave, thinking Emiri can't help, but Akira asks her to stay. Tsuruno decides to tell the two her goal. Emiri says that Tsuruno should train - which is not the same as exercise. Emiri says that exercise is like practicing, but training is supposed to be super-hard - or so she read in a manga once. Tsuruno, to Akira's surprise, understands what Emiri was saying. Tsuruno figures that instead of fighting others, she should be fighting herself. When Tsuruno asks Emiri how to do that, Emiri introduces Akira as someone who is super strong at karate. Akira protests, but Emiri insists that Tsuruno should go to Akira's place. Akira is forced to acquiesce. Later, Akira and Tsuruno track down a lost dog. Tsuruno asks if Akira usually finds lost animals. Akira explains that people ask her to do things and she can't say no. Tsuruno thinks that people counting on her makes Akira strong. Akira admits that she can't think of another way to train Tsuruno, but Tsuruno is happy with it. Suddenly Tsuruno sees a dog, and runs over someone's home garden to catch it. While the dog is returned, the owners of the home got mad at Tsuruno and Akira. Tsuruno apologizes for what she did. Akira says it's alright, and tells Tsuruno she thinks there's someone more suited to be a teacher. The next day she introduces Tsuruno to Meiyui Chun. Akira claims Meiyui is strong at kenpou. Tsuruno asks to be trained, but Meiyui says she doesn't have enough experience in kung fu. She also says her master would be upset if she taught others. Tsuruno insists she'll do anything. Akira admits she brought Tsuruno to Meiyui because Akira didn't have confidence in herself. Meiyui acquiesces, and brings Tsuruno to a factory. Introducing Tsuruno to the factory manager, Meiyui says that Tsuruno will work at the factory part time. Tsuruno's job is to carry heavy items. Tsuruno quickly goes to work. Meiyui is surprised by Tsuruno's strength. The factory manager tells Meiyui he's happy she introduced Tsuruno to them. Meiyui thanks the manager for his help, but the manager says they've been indebted to the Soukaihou for a long time. Later on, Tsuruno leaves the factory and is met by Yachiyo Nanami. Tsuruno bursts into tears. It turns out that while working at the factory Tsuruno tripped and the parts she was carrying scattered. Everyone told her it was alright, but that made Tsuruno feel worse. Tsuruno says she hasn't accomplished anything, and is terrified she'll lose her restaurant and family. Yachiyo tells her to calm down and relax. She tells Tsuruno to take care of the little things instead of worrying about the big picture. She claims if Tsuruno accomplishes small things she'll likely be rewarded for them. The next day, Tsuruno returns to Emiri's stand in order to apologize. She's greeted by Akira, who is there with Meiyui. Tsuruno apologizes to them for what happened at the factory, but Meiyui reveals the factory manager wants Tsuruno to come back and help them out again. Akira also says that the owner of the lost dog they found was very happy she got it back, as the dog was practically her only family. Surprised by the praise, Tsuruno accepts Meiyui's offer to help again. Later, Tsuruno tells Yachiyo what happened, and decides the training is a success. She challenges Yachiyo to a fight, but Yachiyo is not interested. Yachiyo says she'll call Momoko's group and runs off. Tsuruno wonders where Rena is. |

Iroha Tamaki is out doing some Christmas shopping when she bumps into Tsuruno at the shopping center. She notices that Tsuruno is dressed up in a reindeer outfit complete with antlers. However, her outfit happens to include shorts and a bare midriff, prompting Iroha to ask her if she isn't cold. Tsuruno shakes her head; she replies that her reindeer power is at maximum so she should be fine. Iroha smiles and sees the okamochi that Tsuruno is carrying. Tsuruno says she had to pick up a delivery box and comments that part of a reindeer's job is to make deliveries, although she wonders if she shouldn't be dropping off gifts instead of picking up things instead. Tsuruno gets a long look on her face as she decides to ponder the conundrum. Iroha quickly points out that she's doing some kind of delivery and that's the part that matters. This perks Tsuruno back up and she tells Iroha that her sample Christmas menu has already received tons of orders. Iroha smiles politely as she remembers the 10x spicy super red mapo tofu that was part of the menu. Tsuruno also cut up green vegetables into ornaments and came up with an almond tofu Christmas cake. Iroha gets excited at the sound of a cake make of almond tofu, but Tsuruno corrects her and says it's a cake in the shape of an almond tofu, much to Iroha's disappointment. The next thing on the menu is a Santa Clause appetizer plate, which is various Chinese foods in the shape of Santa's face. Before she can go on, however, Tsuruno let's out a big sneeze. It seems her reindeer power is beginning to give out so she decides to run back into the store for now. She says bye to Iroha as she takes off running indoors. Iroha waves goodbye and then sneezes too. She decides to head home for now before she catches a cold. As it turns out, Banbanzai's Christmas Chinese food ended up being a big hit with all the regulars even though it was just the appetizer plate and the cake that were Christmas themed. Tsuruno vows to make the full Christmas menu a reality one day (but not before she gets over her cold!).
Iroha, Tsuruno and Felicia are eating with Tsuruno's father on a break in Ban Ban Zai. Iroha apologizes for eating so slowly but Tsuruno's father tells her not to worry and thanks her for helping him that day. Tsuruno's father mentions that he will go home to rest, leaving the girls alone. The trio starts talking about their summer vacation. Tsuruno says that she has already bought her swimsuit and quickly goes to change to show Iroha and Felicia. Tsuruno proceeds to say that she will compete in swimming competitions with Felicia showing how she will do her swimming techniques, but at that moment a guy enters the restaurant and gets nervous when he sees Tsuruno in swimsuit. Iroha realizes that they forgot to put up the closed sign but Tsuruno lies saying that her swimsuit is a new summer uniform for Ban Ban Zai. However. the guy feels uncomfortable and leaves saying that he will come back, but Tsuruno proceeds to go after him while Iroha goes after her saying that she can't go outside dressed like that. Afterwards, Tsuruno put a sign outside Ban Ban Zai saying "The introduction of our restaurant's summer uniforms has been delayed".
Tsuruno and her father start doing spring cleaning, though Tsuruno thinks it's too early to do that, she agrees since they don't have customers to attend to. Tsuruno sweeps the entrance to Ban Ban Zai but it starts to feel cold, so to warm up he starts to use "Yui family techniques" to sweep. Tsuruno finishes sweeping and proceeds to clean the Ban Ban Zai sign but at that moment Tsuruno's father calls out to her. Tsuruno enters Ban Ban Zai and asks his father what's going on. Tsuruno's father shows Tsuruno a kimono that he found while he was cleaning, saying how happy he is to see it again. Tsuruno is surprised because she didn't know they had such a kimono, but her father says that it belonged to his grandmother, Tsuruno's great-grandmother. Tsuruno gets excited saying that it is a hidden treasure passed down through generations in the Yui family. Tsuruno's father laughs saying that it is true and that seeing the kimono brings back nostalgic memories of his grandmother, as he thought the kimono had been sold, but it was always in their home. Tsuruno notices that the kimono is somewhat worn state but her father says they could take it to a shop to be repaired. Tsuruno asks if she can take it somewhere to be repaired, to which his father agrees, asking her to take care of it. Tsuruno takes the kimono with Yachiyo and tells her about the kimono. Yachiyo says that she knows a good store where they can take it. Tsuruno is happy and thanks Yachiyo. Iroha is surprised that Yachiyo has a great network, but Yachiyo says that her grandmother used to wear kimonos and there is a store that she went to that Yachiyo is familiar with. Yachiyo calls the store and leaves the kimono in charge there. When the Kimono is repaired, Iroha and the others suggest that Tsuruno should wear it and show it to her father, so for New Year Tsuruno decided to surprise him using the kimono. Tsuruno's father begins to cry when he sees her and Tsuruno asks his father if she shouldn't have worn the kimono, but his father reveals that those are tears of joy from remembering his grandmother because he only saw her wear that kimono once, remembering that while she was dressed with the kimono she told him she was wearing it "Since we can't wear furisode outside in a year like this." Tsuruno's father points out that his grandmother used to be a very cheerful person and he is surprised to see how well it looks on Tsuruno and can't believe that she is wearing it. Tsuruno's father says that it is bad for his daughter to see him cry like that, but Tsuruno says that it is not true and thinks how important is that kimono because of his father's precious memories that he has about her great-grandmother. Tsuruno's father says that the kimono really suits Tsuruno and she thanks him with a big smile.
Tsuruno and Iroha Tamaki are going out for a walk in the cold winter weather. Tsuruno claims she loves to wear warm winter clothes, although Iroha can clearly recall the chilly reindeer outfit she wore for Christmas. Despite her warm clothing, Tsuruno wants to be even warmer than she is so she asks Iroha to play a naming game with her where they name all sorts of warm things to warm themselves up from the inside with their imagination. Iroha plays along and at first the two of them go back and forth naming normal things, like hot springs and kotatsus. Soon however, Tsuruno gets carried away and begins to call out ridiculous things like running a marathon in the desert while wearing a thick coat. With so many hot things on her mind Tsuruno feels like she’s overheating and takes off her winter outerwear. She ends up in her school uniform but the cold weather makes her sneeze and curse her over-active imagination. She quickly changes back into her warm winter clothing as Iroha shakes her head at her.
Tsuruno and Felicia come to Ui for help on making a Ban Ban Zai kid’s menu for Tanabata, as they want to have options that kids themselves would suggest. Though the options have to be in a certain theme, matching the festival and Tsuruno’s outfit, as she will be getting a photoshoot to advertise her family business. She also wanted to decorate the restaurant with a stream of water that resembled the Milky Way that served noodles for the occasion, but her father spoke against it, as it would most likely just end up flooding the building. After being shown a traditional snack, somen, Ui decides to have the dishes resemble Tanabata decorations, like cutting up omelettes to resemble wishing paper. Tsuruno adds some Chinese-styled soup to the dish, and Felicia tosses in the idea of having meat as well. With roast pork, omelet strips, tomatoes, and cucumbers, they ended up just making chilled Chinese noodles, but with somen. Despite the younger girls’ satisfaction, Tsuruno is disappointed, and believes her Milky Way noodle idea was more original. However, when the other members of her team like it, and the dish becomes very popular among customers, prompting many to return for a second helping, Tsuruno begins to question the logic behind it.
Tsuruno and Felicia play a board game while at the Mikazuki Villa in their pajamas. Felicia is hungry and since Yachiyo has already gone to sleep, Tsuruno offers to cook something for Felicia, and after snooping around the refrigerator, Tsuruno decides that she will make Chinese soup with meatballs. Felicia agrees and asks Tsuruno to put a lot of meatballs in her soup. While Tsuruno cooks, Felicia asks him if cooking is really fun. Tsuruno asks where Felicia's curiosity comes from, and she tells him that it's because she always sees Iroha and Sana having fun while cooking and was wondering what she's feeling. Tsuruno thinks that this is her chance to get Felicia interested in cooking, because one day she could work as a cook at Banbanzai. Tsuruno tells Felicia that cooking is fun and she asks if she would be interested in cooking, to which Felicia agrees because she finds it boring to sit and do nothing. First Tsuruno tries to teach Felicia how to cut leeks with a knife, but Felicia gets upset when Tsuruno tries to explain because she claims that she learned how to cut leeks in her home economics classes but she doesn't like cutting vegetables because they are so hard. Tsuruno claims it's because Felicia's school doesn't have its knives maintained and explains to Felicia how Yachiyo cuts vegetables perfectly with her knife. When testing the Villa's knife, Felicia realizes how sharp it is and she is excited to see how well it cuts the leeks. After cutting all the vegetables, Tsuruno asks Felicia to put the vegetables in the pot with the meatballs, and then put them to boil in the chicken broth, and once the dish is ready, they should add salt, pepper, and ginger. Felicia suggests adding milk because she heard about milk on TV, and Tsuruno thinks it's a good idea. The two eat the dish and realize that it is really delicious. Tsuruno says that Felicia is actually very good at cooking and she has talent, so Felicia offers to help Tsuruno again when she cooks again, either at Mikazuki Village or Banbanzai. Tsuruno congratulates herself because her plan was effective, and asks Yachiyo to keep what they did a secret. At that moment Yachiyo appears behind Tsuruno's back asking what he wants to keep a secret. Felicia excitedly greets Yachiyo and shows him how she made the Chinese soup with the help of Tsuruno, but Yachiyo scolds the two for staying up until 3 in the morning, telling both that they are interrupting their sleep cycle, but Felicia does not understand Yachiyo's anger, but Yachiyo insists that she's just worried. Annoyed, Felicia says she won't be cooking ever again and Tsuruno laments losing Banbanzai's new chef.
Tsuruno wakes up after she and Felicia fell asleep in the middle of a game. She tries to get Felicia to come to bed with her, but her snores indicate that she’s not getting up anytime soon. With just her being awake, Tsuruno looks around the house, and feels like things are a bit too quiet for her liking. Her mind starts to wander as she fears the possibility of everyone growing up and moving on, therefore leaving her behind. Realizing the rabbit hole she’s going down, she quickly comes to her senses, and scolds herself for letting her thoughts get the better of her. With a sudden creaking sound, Sana emerges from her room, prompting Tsuruno to apologize for her rambling. Sana waves it off, knowing exactly what gloom and dread she is feeling. Deciding to lighten the mood, Tsuruno offers to have warm milk with some cookies that she received from some regulars at BanBanZai, while saving some for the others still sleeping, of course. As if summoned, Felicia abruptly rises wide awake upon hearing about said cookies. Knowing that Yachiyo would give them an earful if she caught them, the three vow to keep their midnight cookie party a secret. However, it isn’t long before all three become drowsy, to the point of not bothering to clean up the crumbs, and fall asleep accepting their future karma. In the morning, an unhappy Yachiyo finds the three passed out in the living room surrounded by cookie crumbs. She yells to wake them up, and they immediately do so, knowing that they are in for a world of trouble. Felicia urgently tells Tsuruno and Sana to run, which begins a chase throughout the house, surprising and confusing Iroha and Ui as they come out to greet them. Still, they can’t help but smile and laugh at the usual liveliness that takes place in Mikazuki Villa. |
