Puella Magi Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magika) (© Magica Quartet/Aniplex, Madoka Partners, MBS) is an anime series by Magica Quartet, directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, written by Gen Urobuchi, with designs by Ume Aoki and Gekidan Inu Curry, music by Yuki Kajiura, and animation production by SHAFT. It was produced by Atsuhiro Iwakami of Aniplex. Madoka Partners is a production committee consisting of Aniplex, Hobunsha, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, Nitroplus Movic, Shaft and MBS.

Artists
- Gen Urobuchi wrote the screenplay for Madoka Magica. He is a writer at Nitroplus whose previous work includes Saya no Uta and Fate/Zero.
- Ume Aoki (aokiume) created the original character concepts and designs. She is the author of Hidamari Sketch. She produces doujinshi under the name apricot+.
- Gekidan Inu Curry is an animation theater troupe consisting of Ayumi Shiraishi and Yousuke Anai. They conjured the parallel world design and monster designs for the witches and their barriers.
- Yuki Kajiura is the musician and composer responsible for Madoka Magica's soundtrack. Kalafina and ClariS performed the ending song, Magia, and opening song, Connect, respectively.
SHAFT
SHAFT is an animation studio based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1975 and has produced anime such as Hidamari Sketch, Bakemonogatari, and Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. It has an official site in Japanese.
Akiyuki Shinbo directed Madoka Magica and came up with the initial concept for the series along with Aniplex producer Atsuhiro Iwakami.
