Now that the game is over, I'm wondering why all of the Ume Aoki designed characters got a memoria with the flowery background with the exception of Mami, Felicia, Momoko, Kaede, and Rena. Were they released and just not uploaded? It seems strange that Asuka got one when she barely played a role in the main story.

Someone has uploaded the new artbook online to download. It includes the characters' profiles. Is anyone willing to take a crack at translating those? It includes info like the girls' abilities. Kraftholo (talk) 15:56, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

I have the book coming in the mail and I downloaded the scans. I was able to translate the abilities and added where they were born in. I'll probably upload the pages that pertain to each girl. Iirc, the main Characters page is just a composite of various other pages on the wiki. If you add a table of contents to this page, it'll show up in that main characters page as well. Sondenise (talk) 00:42, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

What is the criteria that makes someone a "Main Story Character" rather than a "Side Story Character"? Some of the characters in the side story section would probably be considered main story. Speedanon (talk) 21:20, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

It's Character ID. Generally speaking (with the exception of Asuka), "Main Characters" have an ID number that starts 1xxxx whereas "Side Story" characters have an ID number that goes 3xxx. Asuka has a 1xxx ID but was relegated to Side story status due to her involvement (theorized to have originally had a larger part and to have originally been a 4* re: her overelaborate transformation sequence and the fact she was designed by Aoki). Judging by the one teaser image of the Alexandria/Egypt event I saw, the character in question doesn't look like the Cleopatra seen at the end of the original series. It does seem to be Toyo, especially given that unlike previous Puella Historia girls, she is based off a real person: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyo_(queen)

The file's destination also mentions the appropriate time period, and this girl mentions queen Himiko in her dialogue. There's a chance that they'll use the other version of the name (Iyo), but given the filename has her as Toyo, it's safe imo to assume she's gonna be Toyo EPF (talk) 07:31, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

I really don't think there's any reason to do that over just creating the page, but if there is some reason not to just create the page, it's probably better to created it as User:PureChaos/Toyo rather than dumping it directly on User:PureChaos. Special Variants?

If it is decided that Oriko (Final ver.) is a special variant, then I will move Isabeau (Witch ver.) and Tart (Final ver.) to the Special Variants section as well. I just have one problem. How is this section sorted? PureChaos (talk) 11:58, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

The problem as I see it are that we have a section for characters from other media (like the spin off series and the OG series), but then we have the swimsuit and other alt units for the OG series listed under special variants (which is fine). Is Final Tart a special variant considering she actually shows up in the manga? Is white Kazumi a variant considering she also shows up in the manga? Of all the spin off units, only Final Oriko and Isabeau meguca version don't show up in their respective mangas. So I suggest we either keep one section for spinoff manga characters and then make another section for OG series variants and leave the special variants section to MagiReco original characters, or we bumps down Isabeau meguca and Final Oriko while leaving Final Tart and white Kazumi where they are. Side note: they were originally sorted by ID, but then we started lumping them into first two rows OG characters, rumor infused characters, holiday characters as they show up.If we break out the OG characters into their own space, then we can sort the remaining special variants by ID number the way we do the others Sondenise (talk) 17:24, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

By the way, it looks like final Oriko was moved back into the main "spin-off characters" section. What's the logic on that? Was it an error? Or did you just decide there wasn't any point in having a separate "special variants" section just for Oriko and Isabeau? Mostly I didn't see a point in having a separate section for Oriko and Isabeau since it's unlikely we'll get more "variants" of established manga characters (unlike the Holy Quintet, who are much more likely to get more future variants). Sondenise (talk) 02:59, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

As of right now, there are four special variants in the "spinoff" section: 4004 (Oriko final), 4014 (Kazumi human), 4028 (Tart final), and 4121 (Isabeau witch). This might be copium but I'm fully convinced they'll be eventually joined by a fifth, a hypothetical *4038 for Suzune final, so since it would take up an entire row if so I do feel like there is merit to having the separate section. I'll defer to your judgement though.

Cleanup: 7XXX/8XXX Characters from Other Media

While no distinction is made in terms of ID namespace between NPCs original to Magia Record and NPCs from, for instance, Tart Magica, I believe that it would make the page considerably cleaner if the decision was made.

This raises a closely related question, though: What are we doing about the Flamel family, Yoriko, etc. -- characters who technically originate from a prior series, but did not actually appear until Magia Record? SuzuneMU (talk) 15:57, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

I don't think Yoriko was ever even hinted at in Suzune Magia? So it seems strange to argue that she originates from there. Nicholas also didn't appear in Tart Magica as far as I'm aware, though his existence is implied by Pernelle since he's a historical character, so I think it'd make sense to treat him as a Tart Magica character. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 17:54, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Can I ask? Why is Asuka in the main character slot for Arc 1? shouldn't she bee with the side characters?

That's where I had her originally but when we reshuffled the magireco character page she ended up with the arc 1 main characters. the reason is her id number: she has an id number reserved for a main character, she's designed by Ume Aoki, fancy henshin and fancy magia, and she has a flowerfield memoria. She should have been a main character but then they rewrote the story and she got demoted to side character status. However, we now sort the characters almost purely by id. Are we going to keep cluttering up the side characters list with all the faceless NPCs that are magical girls? I don't think it makes sense unless they have a proper live2D and are playable (Yuu is of course going to become playable and plays a major part in several events). I'd rather keep the faceless NPCs with ID numbers in the higher 8xxx range in the "side characters from magia record" section rather than have them clutter up the side characters list. Same for Lame, Fleche, and Fauchard. If you really want, I'd move them to "Spin-off series based characters" if you don't want them with the other faceless NPCs. Part of it also is almost all of them don't even have their own proper pages, just a short listing on the collective minor characters page. Sondenise (talk) 15:19, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

I only moved Inui Itsumi up there because she's a magical girl _and_ has a named witch. Tokime Clan

Minor Characters

Do we really need to show and create a table for all of the minor characters and anime minor characters? Most if not all of them simply point to their entry on the collective minor characters page and most of those are a paragraph at best. it just seems like a lot of unnecessary clutter.
