== Tweets ==
I think maybe we should work out a consistent policy on tweets. There are currently 711 tweets and 2 twitter profile icons linked from across the wiki (see list <span class=plainlinks>[{{fullurl:Special:LinkSearch|target=twitter.com}}&namespace= here] and [{{fullurl:Special:LinkSearch|target=https://twitter.com}}&namespace= here] and [{{fullurl:Special:LinkSearch|target=https://mobile.twitter.com}}&namespace= here] and [{{fullurl:Special:LinkSearch|target=https://*.twimg.com}}&namespace= here]</span>), and they're often used as references, or even image links. The trouble with this is that tweets are inherently transitory. A link to a tweet is liable to go dead at any time, and indeed at least one of the tweeters commonly linked to (GAN) has a habit of deleting old tweets. Twitter icons are even worse for linking to – they're ''guaranteed'' to go dead after an unknown amount of time. We should just ''not'' link to them ever. Uploading one as a reference is fine if it seems useful, though.
If tweets are to be used as references, I think it would be better to archive them (perhaps on the [[Tweets]] page or a similar page), and all other places then link to there instead. Of course, that can still link back to the original tweet (if it still exists). For tweets that include unique images, especially when the image is used as a source for example to determine a character's hair or eye colour, that image should be uploaded to the wiki so it's not lost. I think there are already some that have been lost, and I hope it may be possible to find them somehow.
(I do think including all images that core people tweet related to the franchise is a little excessive though. GAN in particular tends to tweet inapproprate out-of-character fanart which in my opinion often doesn't add much if anything of value to the relevant wiki pages. See [[Talk:GAN#"Official Fanart" Pruning|separate discussion]] on this.)
For tweets that include non-unique images, it's probably good enough to add a brief note that there were images and, in some cases, maybe link to similar images that already exist on the wiki.

: I agree with this, especially now that you cannot view replies/some tweets with images without logging in. As for archiving, though, I'm not sure if we should archive them on a separate page, or do it as ref (similar to [[Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Scene 0#References]]). The initial intention of the [[Tweets]] page was for Tweets that are primary content (Urobuchi/Miyamoto's off-hand remarks about things). I think episodic content on that page should probably be moved into each episodes, but for reference I feel like <nowiki><ref></ref></nowiki> may be a better option. -- [[User:0x99|0x99]] ([[User talk:0x99|talk]]) 14:17, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
:: For purely text tweets, or tweets that just threw in a random image, yeah, I think they could probably be squeezed into a reference. Would definitely make sense to have a template for that still. For tweets that are primarily an image maybe with a comment, if the image is deemed relevant I think it should be uploaded (which is what's been done for ''most'' of GAN's images). The tweet's text could be put in the image's caption, or added as a reference from the image's caption. ~ [[User:Celtic Minstrel|Celtic Minstrel]] ([[User talk:Celtic Minstrel|talk]]) 00:59, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Main Page cleanup

I've taken the liberty to clean up the Main Page styling a little. It's using the same layout as before, but with more consistent spacing/etc. so it looks a lot less cluttered. It's also now and a lot less broken when viewing on a mobile phone. Adding/removing columns should now be a lot less insane. I'm unsure what to do with the News/Wishlist links, though, since they haven't been updated for quite a long time. -- 0x99 (talk) 10:13, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

The News page could probably be updated by trawling the Main Page edit history, and maybe adding other bits if you can think of them. With some work it could even be arranged so that it's the source of the news on the main page (wrapping the lines that should be on the main page in <onlyinclude> tags). ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 13:33, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
Good idea. I'll find some time to do it. -- 0x99 (talk) 13:49, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
I did this, seems to work great. Now to populate 2015 to 2021... -- 0x99 (talk) 12:42, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
That's slightly different from my thought, but it's probably easier to work with this way anyway. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 15:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Main visual

Would it be worthwhile to add the Scene0 main visual to the main page, too? I think a tabber would work for the desktop view, and on mobile there should be enough space to add it below Rising's. EPF (talk) 13:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

I've made some adjustments, what do you think? -- 0x99 (talk) 13:18, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm not sure… I've been so used to seeing the name beside the key visual and now it's moved below it… I can't find any real complaints though… ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 15:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
OK, let's try again. What about this one? -- 0x99 (talk) 15:16, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Oooh, I like it! Thanks EPF (talk) 15:30, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Not sure where to put this

So... I'm not sure why I'm not an autoconfirmed user, but I don't know where to put this question? -- ReiAyanami

I think you may need to wait few more hours. Autoconfirm is set to 3 edits and 7 days from the date of registration. From what I see, you should get autoconfirmed today (Nov 7) at 20:18:23 (UTC) -- 0x99 (talk) 14:30, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
Alright, thank you! I didn't realize it was so exact. :) ReiAyanami (talk) 19:28, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
Sorry for this, we used to have a lot of spam back in the day (who made a few edits to get autoconfirmed then proceeded on creating an SEO spam page). -- 0x99 (talk) 21:07, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Future of Fanworks

(This was originally on my talk page but I have moved it here as it concerns the whole wiki.) While not an official Wiki, this is a Wiki for official content. Outside of personal OC's on the user's pages, is there a reason to include fanworks on the wiki? Fan roleplays have long since died, and many games are likely dead due to flash player shutting down. Is there a reason to have them? Amaterasu (talk) 17:24, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

I think it's best to keep what we have now as an archive rather than remove it since they were a part of the fanbase during the early days. We keep Poorfag's page up for a reason since it was a meme thing and it doesn't interfere with official pages much like OCs on our user pages. As long as they're kept separate from the official stuff, I think it's ok. I believe you can still play the games even though flash player shut down, I remember there being a big project to archive and make old flash games playable when the shut down was initially announced. -The Witch's House (talk) 02:34, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
I'm also very much agree with this. For a more early meme and such we could make a banner that this was part of the community in the early days and are no longer updated. For ongoing content such as Fanworks I think the list of games/media/crossover are still worth keeping (and possibly updating). --- 0x99 (talk) 06:39, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

GunsGirlZ Crossover

So I have been just looking around the wiki, and I stumbled across the crossover page! I read it, expecting it to have the GGZ collab in it... but it wasn't there? I was wondering if it just hadn't been added yet, or if theres a reason that it hasn't been! The GGZ collab is probably my favorite PMMM collab, with the battle cats coming in second :P

Honestly it just hasnt been updated. you're more than welcome to add the info if you'd like (I dont play it unfortunately but it looked cute!)Sondenise (talk) 21:56, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
I can't see anything about the crossover on the page you linked to. You should link not to the other wiki's main page but to a page actually talking about the crossover. Otherwise there's no point in adding the link at all. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 02:18, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about that. The link broke... Sadly since the computer I use is limited by my school I can't fix the link,, I'm sorry haha madolily .+* (talk)♥

Looks like someone else fixed it for you, so it's okay. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 17:33, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
