Homura's Revenge! Chapter 2

The chapter opens on Mami transforming in order to kill the rest of the familiars. However, as soon as she finishes her transformation, Madoka tackles her and says she is so happy to see her again. Mami, embarrassed, kills the familiars while Madoka hugs her. Once she has killed them all, Madoka apologizes for her excitement. The wards disappear and Homura shows up, asking if Mami is okay since she looks winded from the familiars. Mami dismisses her and Homura communicates telepathically with Madoka, asking where she went wrong with trying to be kind to Mami. Madoka says that Mami is trying to be a reliable senior, and that Homura being there stomps on her pride. Homura leaves, surprised that it's her fault things went this way despite her best efforts.

Mami seems somewhat surprised that Homura left but quickly regains her composure. She introduces herself to Madoka and Sayaka and reveals her nature as a magical girl. After healing Kyubey's injuries, Mami asks if she had met Madoka before since Madoka seemed to know her.

The scene cuts to Homura and Madoka on the school roof with Homura asking if Madoka came up with a good lie. Madoka says that she didn't, but Sayaka asked her if she had a dream about Mami like she did for Homura. However, Kyubey denied this and stated that Madoka figured out about Mami through him. With that, he asked if Madoka was ready to start trusting him. Homura then asks if there has been any problems between then and now, and Madoka says that there hasn't been. In fact, Mami had already asked Madoka and Sayaka to follow her on her witch-hunting missions. Madoka agreed and says to Homura that it's wonderful to see Mami being cool again.

Homura interrupts Madoka's admiration with how Mami will be killed in her next fight. Madoka says that she will do everything in her power to prevent that, and suggests that Homura just kills the witch before Mami has any chance of being killed. Kyubey watches them silently as Homura says it wouldn't be a problem.

The next scene opens with Charlotte's grief seed sitting in the hospital wall, beginning to open the barrier. Madoka leaves Sayaka to go find Mami, secretly planning to not find Mami at all. However, Kyubey had led Mami to Madoka and told her that a Witch was appearing at the hospital, to Madoka's despair and shock.

Nevertheless, Mami runs in to Charlotte's barrier and runs into Homura. She attempts to entangle her but Homura stops time to escape. Mami says that she is surprised Homura can really stop time as she blocks Homura from hitting her neck with her shield. Mami kicks Homura away and shoots at her with her musket rondo. Homura is unable to dodge all of them and does get hit in some areas, but doesn't seem to be harmed by them. However, the bullets turn into Mami's entrapment ribbons and try to ensnare Homura. While she is able to escape with her magic, Mami says that Homura lets her magic overwhelm her, creating blind spots. With that, Mami reveals she had slowly been coating the entire floor with her entrapment ribbons and finally traps Homura.

Kyubey encourages Mami to kill Homura, and Mami is surprised he would suggest such a thing. Instead, Mami turns to Homura and says that if she struggles, the restraints will kill her. Homura attempts to warn her about Charlotte, but Mami says she isn't going to believe a word out of Homura's mouth. As Mami and Madoka walk away, Homura defeatedly thinks that Mami's death is now certain.

As Mami and Madoka walk, Madoka pleads with Mami to please listen to Homura's warning. Mami ignores her and says that Madoka is too trusting and nice. She says there is nothing for Madoka to worry about since Mami is a veteran, and that there is no witch she could lose against.

With that, they enter Charlotte's room and meet up with Sayaka. Madoka is determined she can figure out a way to save Mami as the fight begins.
