Homura's Revenge! Chapter 6

Sayaka demands that Kyoko stay out of her fight, and Kyoko begrudgingly agrees. Madoka pleads with Sayaka to stop, but Homura reassures her that she will be okay. She wonders why the two of them are together as she tells Madoka she can take them both on.

A flashback begins to an expanded scene from the previous chapter. Kyubey introduces Kyoko and Sayaka with the intention that they will both work together to kill Homura. However, both of them refuse to work together, saying that they work alone.

The flashback ends as Sayaka slashes at Homura, who uses her magic to dodge. As Homura prepares to knock Sayaka out, Kyoko intervenes saying that she no longer wants to sit on the sidelines. As Kyoko chastises Homura for taunting Sayaka, she stabs at her and hits her. Then, Sayaka rushes in shouts at Kyoko to stay out of it as she slashes at Homura. Homura is narrowly able to block the attack with her shield. Kyoko then jumps in again, saying Sayaka does not get to hog all of the action. As Kyoko goes in for the finishing blow, Homura stops time and points a gun at Sayaka's head. She fires to the side and Sayaka falls to her knees. As Kyoko rushes her, Homura grabs her hand and warns her that she wont hold back next time, stopping time and dropping a flash grenade before leaving with Madoka.

As Kyoko and Sayaka grumble in their defeat, Kyubey appears and reiterates how strong Homura is. Sayaka says that she will not give up no matter how strong, and Kyoko responds that Sayaka is far too weak to ever beat her. Kyubey then says that they might be able to beat her together.

Now, unlike before, both are willing to make an alliance. Kyoko reintroduces herself and says she is willing to team up for one big surprise attack. Kyubey says, since they are both students of Mami, they should be able to teach each other well. Additionally, they need to get stronger to face the incoming Walpurgisnacht.

The scene shifts to Madoka and Homura at the rainbow light fountain from the anime. Madoka says events are playing out just as she had feared, with both Sayaka and Kyoko aggressive towards Homura. Homura agrees, though surprised that the two of them had teamed up. Madoka theorizes that Kyubey may be behind their team-up, and Homura ponders what Kyubey is plotting. No matter what he is planning, Homura says, the situation benefits them since a strong magical girl is there to protect Sayaka. She says that if they can keep them alive until Walpurgisnacht, the chaos will give them a better chance at keeping both of them alive.

A few days later, Madoka and Hitomi walk to school. Hitomi sees Kyosuke and wonders just where Sayaka is, as she has been absent for multiple days. Hitomi trails off, saying she was hoping to talk to Sayaka about something. Meanwhile, Kyoko and Sayaka fight Elsa Maria. During the fight, Kyoko asks if Sayaka is really fine skipping school for so many days. Sayaka says that she will be okay as they defeat Sebastians, saying that she has resolved to save Mitakihara and needs to be stronger to do so. As Sayaka jumps at Elsa Maria, Elsa Maria generates her tree to try and ward Sayaka off. Sayaka pushes through it and the attacks by the Sebastians, stabbing Elsa Maria, decapitating her, and hacking at her repeatedly.

As the barrier falls, Kyoko congratulates her but says that Sayaka is being too reckless. Kyubey asks if that is really the case as he advised her to fight that way. he says that if she can shut down her pain receptors, Sayaka can defeat anything. Kyoko asks if Kyubey really thinks that Sayaka can survive that way, and Kyubey states they don't have enough time to worry about things like that.

As the wards fall completely, Homura appears and says that Sayaka should stop fighting in that way. Sayaka tells her to shut up and orders Kyoko to raise her barrier. Sayaka says that now is the time they can finish Homura off as she summons multiple swords, preparing to attack Homura. Homura thinks that this situation is bad as Sayaka Miki is using too much magic. The chapter ends focusing on Sayaka's darkening soul gem.
