Kazumi and five other girls sit in her living room, the air smelling of strawberries. Mirai Wakaba was in despair because of her loneliness. Satomi Usagi was in despair because of her cat's death. Saki Asami was in despair because of her sisters death. Niko Kanna was in despair because of her friend that she lost in a gun accident. Umika Misaki was in despair because an editor she trusted betrayed her. Kaoru Maki was in despair because of her football rival's attempted suicide ended her football career. At that moment, all of these girls turned their despair into hope. They all made wishes and became magical girls.
Kazumi jumps in excitement, exclaiming that the Pleiades Saints have now been complete. The group is confused, asking who the Pleiades are. Kazumi answers that they are seven sisters that make up the constellation in the sky. Kazumi smiles at her new friends.
Later, after their first witch fight, the Pleiades Saints relaxes in a meadow. Kazumi points at the Pleiades in the sky, and Saki says that it's a cluster of stars northwest of the Taurus constellation, about 444 light-years away. Kazumi says that Saki is smart, and Saki just answers that she had wanted to know why she wanted to name them Pleiades Saints. Kazumi seems embarrassed, beginning to answer Saki's question.
She says that the star cluster reminds her of her grandmother. A flashback begins, showing eight years ago. Her grandmother had, many years prior, married a Japanese man. However, he died and her grandmother decided to stay in Japan. Kazumi's parents moved in next door. Kazumi's father loved Italian football and her mother loved Italian food. Her grandmother was overjoyed at Kazumi's birth, and her happiness made everyone happy. However, when Kazumi was five, her parents died in an unexpected accident and her grandmother adopted her.
The night of her parents funeral, Kazumi's grandmother took her to her vacation home. She pointed at the Pleiades and said that they were her sisters stars. She reveals that she was the eldest of seven sisters, and the last one of them alive. She revealed that her name was Maia, same as the eldest Pleiades sister. She says that her sisters are in the stars, and that Kazumi's parents are in the stars too.
Kazumi grows jealous of her grandmother, saying that she can never have a sister since her parents are dead. As she begins to cry from loneliness, Maia says that blood ties aren't the only thing that make family. Since Maia grew up in an institution, she learned that shared blood doesn't mean people can't connect their hearts. She says that Kazumi can make others her sisters. She asks Kazumi to live with her, but Kazumi says that it would be bad since she isn't her grandmother's daughter. Maia says that Kazumi and her parents are her family and, therefore, Kazumi can be her child. Kazumi cries and she hugs her grandmother.
Kazumi says she is hungry, and her grandmother tells her to ask the stars for help. She does, and Maia gives her a loaf of bread. She says that it is a rosetta, her country's bread. According to legend, it fell from a star: the Rosetta Meteora. Kazumi and her grandmother move to the kitchen, eating the bread. Maia says that she hopes Kazumi will find friends she can trust, her Pleiades.
The flashback ends, and the modern Pleiades Saints look into the sky silently. Kazumi says that her grandmother, Saki's sister and Satomi's cat are in the stars watching them. A star shoots across the sky, and Kazumi leads them to her house where they all eat. Kazumi found her Pleiades.
