To Hear That Precious Sound Once More (望んだあの音をもう一度) is Sayaka Miki's Heartphial Story in Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra.
Story
Sayaka Miki reflects on being a Magical Girl who protects Mitakihara and fights for justice. She knows she cannot back down.
At school, Sayaka is tired after staying up late watching Mami defeat a Witch and doing homework. She thinks about becoming a Magical Girl. In exchange for risking her life fighting Witches, she can have any wish granted. She is unsure what to wish for.
At lunch, Mami visits Sayaka and Madoka. Kyubey asks if they have decided on a wish. Mami warns them it is not something to decide on a whim—they can only ask for one thing and must put their lives on the line.
A student from the broadcast committee asks Sayaka to help select classical music for a school-wide broadcast. Sayaka agrees. Madoka offers to help after school.
After school, Sayaka and Madoka listen to CDs in the broadcast room. Sayaka remembers Kyosuke Kamijo liked a certain performance. She adds it to the list. Madoka finds a CD with a handwritten date but no title. Sayaka recognizes it as Kyosuke performing Gounod's "Ave Maria" at the school festival last year. She has listened to many of his performances. Sayaka remembers Kyosuke got into an accident and his left hand was badly injured. The doctors said it would be difficult to reverse the damage. She wonders if she will ever hear him play again.
Sayaka visits Kyosuke in the hospital. He is listening to Debussy's "The Girl With the Flaxen Hair." She tells him she helped the broadcast committee pick classical songs because of everything he taught her. Kyosuke asks if she is torturing him by making him listen to music he can no longer play. He says the doctor told him to give up—his hand will never move again until miracles or magic exist. Sayaka realizes Kyosuke has lost hope.
Sayaka decides on her wish. She becomes a Magical Girl and heals Kyosuke's hand. Mami trains her to fight Witches. Sayaka visits Kyosuke in the hospital. His hand is healed. The doctors do not know why. Kyosuke tells her he will be discharged soon.
Several days later, Kyosuke returns to school. He is using crutches but aims to walk without them soon. Madoka suggests asking Kyosuke to help with the classical music feature. He agrees. After school, they listen to songs together. Madoka is called away, leaving Sayaka alone with Kyosuke. They share earphones. They choose a Rachmaninoff song. Kyosuke apologizes for the awful things he said to Sayaka when he was in the hospital. He says he wants to make it up to her. Sayaka tells him she would not mind hearing him play the violin again. Kyosuke says he will hold a mini recital in the music room someday.
On the day of the recital, Sayaka is excited. She asks Madoka if she is coming, but Madoka does not know about it. Sayaka realizes Kyosuke did not invite anyone else. A Witch appears. Sayaka fights it with Mami. They defeat it quickly. Sayaka rushes to the recital.
Sayaka arrives late. Kyosuke is waiting for her. No one else is there. The recital is just for her. Kyosuke plays "Ave Maria." Sayaka is overjoyed. She is glad her wish came true and she became a Magical Girl. Hearing Kyosuke play again is the happiest moment of her life.
