Magia Exedra Main Quest - Tsuruno Yui's Memory
Tsuruno Yui's Memory (由比鶴乃の記憶) is the second Crescent Memoria Main Quest in Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. It follows Tsuruno Yui who joins Yachiyo Nanami's team, and together they visit Sumire Yoake in Toyozuru City. Momoko Togame and her new friends, Rena Minami and Kaede Akino, investigate the disappearance of the idol unit Plume Plenty, and meet an enigmatic Magical Girl named Fuka Higure.
Alongside it an Event version of the story was released.
Story
Magia Record Crescent Memoria Part 2
A gossip stream announces the sudden retirement of Toyozuru idol duo Plume Plenty, hinting at a possible scandal. Meanwhile, a girl named Fuka Higure, who is revealed to be a Magical Girl, reads about it and later heads to Sumire's house. There, Tsuruno, Sumire, Yachiyo, Mifuyu, and Momoko are playing rock paper scissors. They plan a sleepover at Sumire's place. Momoko receives urgent messages from Rena about the idol duo, who are apparently Magical Girls and have gone missing.
Momoko decides to leave to check on Rena, promising to practice combos with Tsuruno another time. The rest of the group travels to Toyozuru and settles in at Sumire's house, where they read books and eventually fall asleep. Momoko meets Rena and Kaede in Kamihama. Rena explains that Plume Plenty posted a cryptic message about wishes, a pact with a devil in white, and false hope, suggesting they were Magical Girls. They decide to search for the idols in Toyozuru, focusing on a seaside park that appears often in their posts. While asking for directions, they encounter a girl in a school uniform who turns out to be Fuka Higure. Fuka leads them toward the park, but they sense a Witch. Together they defeat it and split the Grief Seed. Fuka introduces herself as a Toyozuru Magical Girl and agrees to keep an eye out for the missing idols. The group continues to the park but finds no trace of them.
Meanwhile, Mifuyu steps out from Sumire's house to buy groceries and make a phone call. She reminisces about past happiness with Yachiyo, Kanae, and Yachiyo's grandmother, remembering Kanae's death and the pain of losing her. Shaking off the memories, she senses a powerful magic nearby and goes to fight a Witch.
Back at the park, Rena starts doubting her concerns, thinking the idols may have simply retired to focus on school. Kaede sees an online rumor that confirms that, but then a gossip stream reveals that Plume Plenty is actually missing and the police are investigating. Momoko decides they will resume the search in Toyozuru tomorrow morning.
Alone, Fuka talks with Kyubey about her desire to protect what matters most, admitting she is no hero of justice. She then senses danger and rushes off, arriving just in time to save one person but not another. She later speaks on the phone, mentioning that she used magic on someone who saw too much and is keeping that person sedated.
At Sumire's house, Yachiyo dozes off while reading and has a vivid dream about Kanae and her grandmother, reliving the warmth of those days and the tragedy of Kanae's death. She wakes abruptly to find Tsuruno and Sumire also having fallen asleep. They realize Mifuyu still has not returned from shopping, nearly an hour late. Yachiyo sends a message but gets no reply. Worried, they go out to search for her. They check the store where she might have gone but find nothing. Yachiyo tells Tsuruno and Sumire to head back to the house while she continues looking alone, refusing to let them worry further.
The next morning, Tsuruno wakes up first at Sumire's house and finds an envelope with magic on it that was slipped through the mail slot. Inside is a letter stating, "I have Mifuyu Azusa. At the park by the sea at 8:00 tonight, she will be returned to you." Tsuruno wakes Yachiyo and Sumire, and they confirm the letter is from an unknown Magical Girl. They call Momoko, who has an alibi having been with Rena and Kaede all night, and who says she ran into Mifuyu while she was out shopping. The group decides the kidnapper is a stranger. They question local rookie Magical Girls from Yuhicho, who say there are no veteran Magical Girls left in Toyozuru and that no one local would dare pick a fight with Yachiyo. Yachiyo tells Tsuruno and Sumire to be careful.
Meanwhile, Momoko, Rena, and Kaede continue searching for the missing Plume Plenty idols. A rookie Magical Girl tells them she saw a veteran Magical Girl the previous night who might have been Mifuyu, and warns that veterans are being targeted in Toyozuru. They then see a new post from Plume Plenty: "We know everything now... today at the place where we made our wish, the truth will be told... I'm so sorry, everyone." The post seems to reference Humpty Dumpty and the shattering of an egg, which Yachiyo recognizes as a metaphor for a broken Soul Gem. Yachiyo calls Momoko, and they agree to meet at the seaside park where the idols made their wish and where Mifuyu was last seen.
At the park, the two groups converge. They hear two girls arguing, one with short hair and one with long hair. The long-haired idol runs off alone, and Yachiyo's group follows her, but she enters a crowded area and disappears. Momoko's group finds the long-haired idol collapsed and spiritless on the ground. She briefly revives, blaming herself and saying she must find her partner to end everything, then collapses again. Fuka Higure appears, thanks Tsuruno for the Grief Seed she shared earlier, and coldly announces, "I was able to let her die." Rena is devastated, and Momoko confronts Fuka, who claims she didn't actually kill the girl. Fuka then uses her magic to render Yachiyo spiritless and flees with the idol's body. Tsuruno gives chase.
Tsuruno chases Fuka through the city. Fuka leads her back to the park, where Tsuruno discovers Mifuyu lying spiritless. Fuka admits she took Mifuyu but says she always planned to return her, and that her actions were for protection, not malice. She refuses to explain further, saying some things are better left unsaid. Tsuruno tries to reason with her, but Fuka escapes into a Witch's Labyrinth. Momoko arrives to help, and together they corner Fuka. Despite Momoko's encouragement magic countering the spiritless effect, Fuka summons a wall of Familiars to shield herself and escapes again, taking the dead idol's body with her, claiming she still has more to do to save her. They recover Mifuyu, but Yachiyo remains unconscious. The group decides to return to Kamihama for now, with Sumire joining them, as Toyozuru has become too dangerous.
Yachiyo wakes from a nightmare about Kanae and learns that Fuka Higure is the one behind the spiritless magic. She scolds Tsuruno for chasing Fuka alone, then reveals that she once had another friend named Kanae who died in a reckless charge against a Witch. Tsuruno reassures Yachiyo that they are all friends and should share burdens. The group decides to stay overnight at Mikazuki Villa. Late that night, Tsuruno and Sumire talk over tea; Sumire says she still wants to become a Magical Girl who can save someone, while Tsuruno reaffirms her goal to restore Banbanzai and decides that they should all grow stronger together.
The next morning, Momoko wakes early and finds Sumire already preparing hot pot. While talking, Momoko remembers the pressed violet bookmark she found long ago, which Sumire confirms is hers. Momoko naps on the sofa and wakes to find Sumire gone, leaving a note: “Thank you so much for everything. You probably won’t be seeing me around anymore. This was my decision, so please don’t look for me.”
Some time later, a new Magical Girl named Mel Anna comes to live at Mikazuki Villa, bringing back its lively atmosphere. The group stops discussing Sumire or Toyozuru. Mel Anna wins a hot spring vacation raffle but asks to stay at the villa while her parents go alone, as she fears staying with Kanagi. Yachiyo agrees and prepares a room for Mel, which is the same room Sumire used. While cleaning, Yachiyo finds a pressed flower bookmark in a book Sumire left behind. She recognizes it as one Kanae made, imbued with magic.
Yachiyo falls asleep and dreams Kanae’s memories: Kanae made the bookmark for a junior in the Beautification Committee, which is Sumire. The dream shows Kanae and Sumire walking home together, planning to attend a festival in Toyozuru. Yachiyo realizes Sumire must have known Kanae and may have left because being around them reminded her of that loss, yet something still feels off.
Elsewhere, Fuka continues hunting Witches alone, struggling to keep her own Soul Gem from darkening. She encounters a mysterious creature that seems to halt the transformation of a Magical Girl at the brink of becoming a Witch, allowing her to “let her die once” and keep her alive temporarily. Kyubey observes the phenomenon. Fuka questions Kyubey about wishes and their outcomes for Magical Girls who are no longer with us.
Sumire meets Kyubey alone at night, saying she is still searching for the right wish and that the day she makes her contract is approaching. Fuka finds her and warns her of the danger. Their conversation reveals that Fuka saved Mifuyu from seeing too much and that Sumire knew about it, calling the incident a misunderstanding. Sumire says she has sins to atone for, but still intends to become a Magical Girl someday.
