At the End of the World with You (世界の終わりは君と) is Hanna Sarasa's Heartphial Story in Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra.
Story
Hanna Sarasa reflects on her life and the terrible things she has done. She is a loner at school who feels invisible. When she looks at the board for group assignments, her name is not there. She just wants to disappear. She runs to a cafe where she meets her most precious friend, Mikoto Sena. They spend time together there, and Hanna tries to look presentable for her.
Hanna becomes a villain for Mikoto's sake. She uses her power of suggestion to create chaos, controlling Magical Girls, random people, and even Witches. She targets those who pretend to be allies of justice. Nanaka Tokiwa figures out Hanna is responsible and seeks revenge. Hanna enjoys the excitement of being hunted.
But Hanna admits she never wanted to be evil. She used to dream of being a hero. She wants to make Mikoto smile and prove there is hope in the world. She wants to destroy everything—her home, school, society, the world—to save Mikoto, who has become a Witch trapped in ruin. Hanna becomes the evil that needs to be defeated so Mikoto can live a different life.
Hanna remembers her childhood. Her father was a violent criminal who beat her, and her mother ignored the abuse. Hanna hated her mother more than her father. Her only escape was watching superhero shows on weekend mornings, dreaming of becoming a hero who never turns a blind eye to others in need. Her father is stabbed to death, and her mother later dies in a drunk driving accident, thus Hanna is sent to an orphanage.
She attends a prestigious school by keeping her grades up to avoid tuition. She hopes to start a new life and become a hero. But she is bullied for being an outsider. When she tries to defend another girl who is being bullied, the girl later joins the bullies in tormenting Hanna. The bullying worsens, and Hanna feels completely broken and then Kyubey appears. Hanna wishes for all the girls bullying her to disappear from the world, with only her remembering they ever existed. Her wish is granted. She becomes a Magical Girl and loses any chance of becoming a hero.
Not long after, Hanna meets Mikoto Sena. Mikoto is the first Magical Girl Hanna ever meets. Hanna sees her as someone to use at first, but they become real friends. Hanna copies Mikoto's power of suggestion and uses it often because it makes her happy to share something with her. They spend time together at cafes, though they never talk about important things. Hanna does not notice the signs of Mikoto's fate until it is too late, and Mikoto disappears.
After Mikoto's disappearance, Hanna feels Mikoto inside her like a ghost. They are reunited by a miracle, but Mikoto is no longer human— she has become like a Witch obsessed with destruction. Hanna decides to destroy everything in Mikoto's place so Mikoto can live a different life. Hanna goes wild, sneaking into school and writing their names on the blackboard. She feels like an outcast who cannot live a normal life.
Hanna plans for Nanaka Tokiwa to deliver the final blow and end her. But Nanaka chooses not to kill her. Hanna crushes her own Soul Gem instead. She wants to show that evil can be defeated and that there is still hope in the world. As she dies, Hanna hugs Mikoto and tells her she loves her. She wishes they could have defeated evil and protected the world together, yet she still wants Mikoto to smile. Her final thought is that she is glad she could help Mikoto and become who she wanted to be. She says goodbye.
