Prologue
Chapter 1 - End of Dreams
From the future, Ui, Touka, and Nemu encounter a massive witch, but then Touka and Nemu disappear, leaving Ui to face the witch alone with Sakurako. Despite their efforts, the witch deflects their attacks and eventually disappears, taking Ui with it. A mysterious girl awakens in a strange, gray landscape with no memory of who she is. She meets Riz and Sakurako, who also have fragmented memories. The girl recalls being told by a "Monsieur Angel" to collect "prayer petals" to find her way out. Riz shares memories of Tart and Catherine, while Sakurako remembers fighting a giant witch and losing Ui. The three discuss their fragmented memories and the possibility of finding others who might have the "prayer petals."
Chapter 2 - Purgatory
Ui wakes up in a strange place called "Purgatory," where she is confronted by Lapin. Sakurako intervenes to protect Ui, and Riz joins the fight, driving Lapin away. Ui, Sakurako, Liz, and the mysterious girl discuss their fragmented memories and the possibility of being in Purgatory, a place for souls that cannot go to Heaven or Hell. The mysterious girl explains that they need to collect "prayer petals" to escape, and Ui begins to recall her past adventures in 15th-century France, where she fought alongside Tart and others to restore history and ensure the coronation of Charles VII. However, the details of what happened after the coronation remain unclear. Ui explains that she, Touka, and Nemu were having a slumber party and attempted to share a dream using a magical connection. Sakurako joined the dream through a server, but the dream was interrupted by the appearance of a giant witch. Touka and Nemu vanished during the attack, and Ui and Sakurako were pulled into the current space.Elisa, Melissa, and Pernelle wander through the gray, monotonous landscape, trying to find a way out. Pernelle’s memories are fragmented, and they are unsure of how they ended up in this place. They are attacked by Corbeau and Minou, where Minou uses her powers to teleport Pernelle away. Elisa and Melissa manage to fend off their attackers but are left to search for Pernelle alone. Meanwhile, Ui, Sakurako, Liz, and the mysterious girl encounter a witch from Kamihama, which shouldn’t exist in their time. They defeat it and speculate that they might be in a shared dream or a dream-like world, as their memories and surroundings feel unreal. Elisa and Melissa reunite with Ui, Sakurako, Liz, and the mysterious girl. They share their experiences and realize that their memories are incomplete. Elisa and Melissa recall being separated from Tart during a battle in Compiègne and being saved by Pernelle. They also remember being on a mission with Pernelle before ending up in this strange place. The group discusses the possibility of being in a dream or Purgatory, where souls await prayers to move on. Through the memories revealed by newfound prayer petals, the group learns about the Battle of Compiègne, where Elisa and Melissa were separated from Tart and severely wounded by Minou. They were later saved by Pernelle but have no memory of what happened afterward. They realize that Corbeau, who attacked them earlier, was actually killed by Minou, and that none of them have their soul gems, despite being able to transform into their magical girl forms. They decide to search for Pernelle, who might have answers, and continue their journey to find a way out.
Chapter 3 - Wandering
Elisa, Melissa, and Pernelle wander through the gray, monotonous landscape, trying to find a way out. Chapter 4 - Summoner
Pernelle is attacked by Minou, who uses summoning magic to call forth enemies. Ui, Sakurako, Liz, and the mysterious girl arrive to help and drive her away. Pernelle explains that the stone she carries amplifies magic and was used to summon those with prayer petals into Purgatory. They speculate that Minou is trying to prevent them from escaping by cutting off their connection to the outside world. Through the memories revealed by the prayer petals, the group learns about the Battle of Compiègne, where Tart was captured by enemy forces. Elisa and Melissa were severely wounded and left behind, while Pernelle arrived later to find them. The group realizes that their mission is to rescue Tart’s heart, which is trapped in Purgatory. The mysterious girl is revealed to be a younger version of Tart, representing her broken spirit. Pernelle and Cube explain that Purgatory is a dream-like barrier designed to trap Tart’s mind. To escape, they need to collect "prayer petals" from those with strong connections to Tart, which will help restore her heart. The group also learns that two keys, a "Golden Key" and a "Silver Key," are needed to open the Gates of Heaven and escape Purgatory. These keys are guarded by two souls of the dead, who must be defeated to obtain them. They realize that Minou is summoning dead magical girls and other entities to stop them.
Chapter 5 - The Living and The Dead
The group senses Corbeau ahead and prepare for a confrontation, hoping to avoid a fight and possibly collect a prayer petal from her. However, Corbeau reveals she holds one of the keys needed to escape Purgatory and challenges them to take it by force. Despite her enhanced strength, they defeat her and she disappears afterwards, leaving behind the Silver Key.
Chapter 6 - The Other Key
They encounter Lapin, who is eager to fight after learning of Corbeau’s defeat. Despite her powers, the group manages to defeat her through coordinated attacks, with Melissa delivering the final blow. After Lapin’s defeat, they find the "Golden Key," realizing that Lapin, like Corbeau, was already dead and unaware of her true state. With both the Silver and Golden Keys in hand, the group prepares to open the Gates of Heaven and escape Purgatory. As the younger version of Tart holds the keys, a bright light appears.
Chapter 7 - Truth
They reach the Gates of Heaven, where Minou awaits them. She reveals that the gates and keys were created by Pernelle’s spell, and she has been manipulating events to ensure their failure. Tart senses that Minou holds prayer petals, but Minou refuses to cooperate, forcing the group to fight. During the battle, Tart recalls the Battle of Compiègne, where Riz sacrificed herself to defeat Lapin by opening the Gates of Hell, trapping both herself and Lapin in eternal darkness. This memory overwhelms Tart, causing her to faint. The group struggles against Minou and the massive witch she summons, which she reveals to be Isabeau herself. Only Sakurako’s attacks seem to have any effect as she's a Rumor, but even they are not enough. Pernelle’s magic barrier protects them, but they decide to retreat with Tart while Pernelle holds off the enemy.
Chapter 8 - The Light That Comes
Riz’s disappearance after the battle of Compiègne is revealed, and Melissa struggles to accept it. Elisa demands Pernelle to use a stone to call out a voice, referring to a mysterious entity. Cube explains that Riz had vanished beyond the Gates of Hell, and her voice was mistakenly thought to be a summoning by Pernelle’s magic. Ui and the others realize they were also summoned by Pernelle’s magic. Pernelle reveals that Minou summoned a powerful witch, Isabeau, who has encased all of France in her Labyrinth. The group learns that Isabeau’s power comes from a wish made by her daughter, Lapin, to restore her mother to human form, leaving behind an immortal shell controlled by the witch. Minou declares that the future has changed, and Isabeau’s reign has come to pass. Pernelle explains that the witch was summoned from the dreams of future people, connected through Ui’s dreams. The future is now in danger of being overtaken by Isabeau’s darkness, and Tart is the only one who can stop it. Ui and Sakurako discuss the time paradox and how the future has been altered. Cube suggests that Ui’s existence is protected by a device that records and confirms history, the "Blank Prophecy" preventing her from disappearing despite the changes. Sakurako’s role as a Rumor ensures that Ui and her sister Iroha will reunite, maintaining their connection across time. Melissa recalls traveling with Iroha and Yachiyo, who are also working to restore the future. Cube concludes that Iroha and Yachiyo are singularities connecting contradictory histories, and their actions are keeping the future from fully collapsing. Ui’s phone is key to maintaining their existence and potentially reversing the dark future.
Chapter 9 - Sister and Sister
Pernelle explains that Sakurako’s presence is to help reunite Ui with her sister Iroha and Yachiyo, who hold the final petals needed to restore Tart. Iroha and Yachiyo, who were outside the flow of time, couldn’t be summoned directly, so Sakurako acts as a medium to bridge the gap between their time and the present. Pernelle prepares to summon them using Ui’s device as a conduit. As Pernelle begins the summoning, Minou attempts to stop her, revealing that she has been searching for the Blank Prophecy to prevent their plans. Elisa and the others defend Pernelle, allowing her to successfully summon Iroha and Yachiyo. They're briefed on the situation, and Pernelle guides them in offering their prayers to restore Tart. Tart regains her true form and memories, and with the gold and silver keys in place, they prepare to open the Gates of Heaven.
Chapter 10 - Door of Heaven
Minou confronts the group, revealing her plan to create a dark future ruled by Isabeau, where Tart would be turned into a puppet witch to spread fear. She explains that Tart’s death is not enough, and that she must be remembered as a symbol of despair. Minou traps the group in a witch’s labyrinth to prevent them from escaping. They fight the witch and Ui devises a strategy where Sakurako, the only one whose attacks work, distracts the witch while the others defend her. This buys time for Tart, Elisa, Melissa, and Pernelle to make a run for the Gates of Heaven. Tart uses the two keys to open the gates, and they escape Purgatory, leaving Minou behind. They return to the real world, where Tart’s spirit is restored. Pernelle explains that while Tart will forget the events of Purgatory, the prayers and hope given to her will remain. Meanwhile, Iroha, Yachiyo, Ui, and Sakurako continue to fight the witch and resolve to survive the witch’s attack and return to their time, confident that they will reunite with their friends in the future.
Chapter 11 - The Last Battle
The French army, led by La Hire and Gilles de Rais, launches an attack on Rouen to rescue Tart, who is imprisoned by Isabeau’s forces. The battle intensifies as reinforcements, including the Duke of Alençon and Richemont’s artillery, join the fight. The soldiers rally behind Tart, chanting her name as they push forward. Tart, imprisoned and on trial for heresy, is visited by Cube, who reveals Riz’s wish: to create a true hero, and encourages Tart to fight, before Minou incapacitates. Pernelle, Elisa and Melissa infiltrate the prison to rescue Tart. Elisa shares her own story of seeking acceptance, contrasting it with Tart’s selfless fight for others. She urges Tart to take pride in the love and support of those fighting for her. Tart, inspired by their words and the soldiers’ chants, resolves to fight again. Tart, Elisa, Melissa, and Pernelle confront Isabeau, who is protected by a wish that makes her immune to attacks from magical girls. Minou reveals that her wish was to protect Isabeau from all magical girls, rendering their attacks useless. Despite this, Tart refuses to give up, vowing to fight even if the odds are against her. Isabeau reveals her true form, Crépuscule de La Reine, a monstrous witch who has engulfed all of France in her labyrinth, which makes witches visible to humans. Despite the seemingly insurmountable odds, Tart refuses to give up even as her soul gem becomes increasingly corrupted.
Chapter 12 - Twilight of La Reine
Tart hears Riz’s voice guiding her. Riz’s soul gem appears, and her spirit empowers Tart, allowing her to fight beyond the limits of a magical girl. Tart’s attacks begin to affect Isabeau, and after Tart incapacitates Minou, Isabeau’s witch spreads its wings and Tart delivers the final blow. The sky clears as the witch is vanquished, and Tart thanks Riz for her protection before Riz's soul gem fades away. Elisa and Melissa celebrate Tart’s victory, but Tart’s condition remains uncertain as her soul gem has now become something more akin to a grief seed. In the uncertain future, Iroha, Yachiyo, Ui, and Sakurako continue to fight the remnants of the witch’s weakening influence, and, guided by a mysterious light, they pass through the Gates of Heaven and return to their future where they're reunited with Touka and Nemu and their memories fade.
Chapter 13 - End of Light
Riz explains to Sakurako that she exists as a soul gem without a physical body, sustained by her wish to protect Tart. She reveals she guided Tart by secretly providing "prayer petals" and acknowledges her role in Tart’s journey. Riz fades away after fulfilling her purpose, leaving Sakurako to return to the future. Tart, nearing her limit, surrenders to Minou to prevent becoming a catastrophic witch herself. Tart accepts execution, ensuring her allies’ safety and averting a dark future. In 1431, Tart is executed, her sacrifice preventing her transformation into a witch.
