38th Millennium BCE - 13th Century CE

- During this outbreak, Pernelle met Nicholas Flamel, who'd found the process for how to create a Philosopher's Stone.[2]
- In 1385, at the age of fourteen, Isabeau de Bavière was sent to France to wed the king. There, she was approached by Cube to make a contract with him. After asking many questions about the Magical Girl System and the Incubators' very nature, she wished for everything Cube possessed and, among other things, gained the power to make contracts herself.[4]
- For the following decades, Isabeau makes contracts with many girls, causing them to lose their souls and become mindless servants to her. Isabeau's first victim was a servant, who was tricked by Isabeau to wish for her fidelity to Isabeau for as long as she lived.[5]

- In 1420, Isabeau is involved in the Treaty of Troyes, eventually signing the treaty with England that disinherits her son, Charles, and cedes France to the English. Isabeau becomes known as "The woman who swore France away."[6]
- Likely during this time, among the ones she contracts is her own daughter Corbeau, who wishes to become a Magical Girl specialized in fighting Magical Girls, so her sisters wouldn't need to fight.[7]
- At some point, after 1422, Isabeau uses too much of her magic and becomes a Witch. Lapin overturns this process by making a wish to the Witch itself so that Isabeau would go back to how she was. This causes Isabeau's Witch mind to inhabit her human body and continue her plans.[6]

- The first candidate she met was referred to as "Machete", with the same age as Riz. She would die in battle against a Witch after her Soul Gem broke.[9]
- The second was referred to as "Frusta", who was older than Riz. She would also die in battle against a Witch.[10]
- The third and fourth were twins, where one is referred as "Falce" and the other one "Lancia", who were younger than Riz. Lancia would become a Witch and afterwards, Falce believed Riz and Cube had planned this, so she turned against them, forcing Riz to kill her as well.[11][12]
- Elisa Celjska, being the illegitimate daughter of the Holy Roman Empress and a member of the Order of the Dragon, was exiled by the court until she meets Pernelle and Cube and becomes a magical girl. She makes the wish for everyone to acknowledge her existence and her and her mother were forgiven and brought back to the court. Elisa then began to use her powers for the Emperor and being sent all over Europe in missions by the Order of the Dragon.[8]

- Mabayu and Mami form a partnership, and even convince other candidates to become Magical Girls. - The events of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and some of its related media take place. See Timelines for more details. In Magia Record, the events of Suzune Magica take place before the events of Madoka Magica, while Kazumi Magica, and Oriko Magica take place around the same time as Madoka Magica.
- This information may be considered incongruent with many Madoka Magica media, but the original Puella Magi Oriko Magica claims that these, and thus most other events of the Madoka Media, take place during 2011, with Kirika Kure being born in 1997 and dying in 2011.[41]

800,000 years in the future
This is the distant future of a universe not rewritten by Ultimate Madoka. Nothing is known about what sequence of events in the present day would have led to that outcome.
- Humanity extends their population across the cosmos, reaching at least as far as the Orion Arm.[1]
- Homo magica evolve from the Homo sapiens race, leading to the extinction of humanity after a war.
- The Magi Wars begin between the Homo magica and the other races of the universe.
- Incubators go extinct due to the Homo magica.
- The Homo magica destroy multiple planets, causing the extinction of many races.
- The Homo magica create the Time Railroad, intending to use it to conquer time itself.
- Kosane Kiriha travels from the past and becomes an "emotions manager" for the resistance force.
- The Homo magica destroy the planet Terminus, causing them to win the Magi Wars.
- The Time Railroad is destroyed, fusing Kosane with the railroad and with Kyubey.[62]
Law of Cycles Universe
The past that was changed by Madoka's wish and the Law of Cycles. It is unknown how different the events of the past were, but the results were similar enough to the original universe's present day.
It is notable that the existence of wraiths has resulted in magical girls teaming up more often with each other, and that Kyubey is completely straightforward with the consequences of becoming a magical girl, as they no longer turn into witches, but simply disappear and are taken into the Law of Cycles.
Post-Rebellion Universe
The past that was changed by Devil Homura after she tore Madoka from the Law of Cycles. The details are ultimately unknown, however it can be assumed that other what's noted below, this universe is at least superficially similar to that of the Law of Cycles Universe.
- Three years ago, Junko moved to the US with her entire family, including Madoka.
Magia Record Game Universe
Other than what's noted here, it can be assumed that the Magia Record Universe is the same as the original universe.
Before 1st Century BCE
- The girl who would become 10-43 makes a contract with Kyubey for a fertile paradise for her family's prosperity. Through the years, she would be seen as a patroness but eventually succumb to despair and turn into a Witch.
1st Century BCE
- In 51 BCE, Cleopatra VII Philopator becomes Pharaoh of Egypt and uses girls from the Met Clan to make contracts for her benefit.
- One of these candidates makes a wish for Cleopatra's beauty, but this magic did need to be reapplied, otherwise its effects would wear off.
- In June of 31 BCE, Ebony makes a contract with Kyubey for Cleopatra to have enough glory to carve her name in history. She becomes Cleopatra's lady-in-waiting, and later discovers her magic is bewitching others with the smoke from her censer. Cleopatra makes use of this power to keep opinions of herself high among citizens.[63]
- Contrary to the original universe, it appears that Cleopatra was not a magical girl in this universe.
- Cleopatra is taken as a prisoner of Rome at the hands of Octavian (the future Emperor Augustus) and dies. Records note that she committed suicide by snakebite, and that Ebony became a witch from it.[64]
- While real-life Cleopatra is recorded to have died around August 10, The Mirage of Alexandria shows her dying on August 29, though this may have been altered from the original events due to the actions of the Tokime Tribe in Puella Historia.
1st Century CE
- Around 71 CE, when she was six years old, Cornelia the Younger (personal name unknown) is taken in by her father's friend and takes the surname Junia.
- History A:
- In summer of 78 CE, Marius announces his marriage to Junia has been approved. Likely around this time, Junia meets a Vestal Maiden of Light and Kyubey, or Master Cubius, who prompts her to become a magical girl. Due to her love for Marius, she refuses.
- On October 24, 79 CE, Vesuvius erupts, killing most of the population, including Emperor Vespasian and Plinius in Stabiae without organizing a rescue effort. Pompeii is destroyed, and the Cornelia and Maria families die. Junia makes a contract with Kyubey to be reborn as a different person in the past, and thus creates History B.[65]
- History B:
- In 76 CE, Junia, having made a contract with Kyubey, travels back three years in time from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. She adopts the persona of Amaryllis, a handmaiden to Junia, using her magic to make others accept her identity without question. She befriends Cornelia and convinces her to help by predicting a destructive rainstorm during a play starring the popular actor Master Paris.
- In summer of 77 CE, Amaryllis and Cornelia spread a prophecy about the impending eruption of Mount Vesuvius through the Cult of Isis. They predict Hilarus the Left-Handed’s victory in an upcoming chariot race to prove the accuracy of their prophecy. The race coincides with Cornelia’s birthday, and Amaryllis arranges for Cornelia and Marius to watch it together to strengthen their bond. The Cult of Isis is convinced by Amaryllis’ detailed predictions, including the death of Emperor Vespasian, so they agree to prepare their followers for the disaster.
- In summer of 78 CE, Amaryllis and Cornelia meet Plinius and late Consul Titus to convince them of the prophecy. Titus promises to help evacuate once the eruption begins and to facilitate aid for survivors in Neapolis. After the meeting, Cornelia, Marius, and Junia head to a picnic where Marius announces that his approved engagement to Cornelia.
- On October of 79 CE, frequent earthquakes and the drying up of the Aqua Augusta confirm the prophecy. Many residents begin to evacuate, and the Cult of Isis provides ships to aid in the evacuation.
- On October 24, 79 CE, thanks to Amaryllis’ preparations, many residents are already evacuating. Cornelia, Marius, and their families coordinate the evacuation to the shore, where ships await. The Roman navy, led by Admiral Plinius, arrives to assist in the evacuation. Plinius ensures his fleet rescues as many as possible before dying in Stabiae. Cornelia and Marius look forward to rebuilding their lives in Neapolis, while Junia stays on Pompeii and reflects on her vow to live the rest of her life in atonement.[65]
3rd Century CE
- Toyo is born to Himiko, the Queen of Yamatai, and to the king of a rival nation, Kuna. She is sent to grow up with her grandparents without knowledge of her parents. Due to suffering from a disease, likely a form of epilepsy, she experiences seizures and becomes feared by her village as the "child of a Cursed God." Despite admiring Himiko and practicing in Spirit Arts, the villagers believe her power is cursed and that she will bring calamity.[66]
- A candidate successor of Himiko's becomes an magical girl and reveals her wish to Himiko. After she becomes a witch, she brings great disaster and causes many deaths.
- After Himiko's younger brother enlists Toyo to be sent as a candidate for succeeding her, Toyo proves herself worthy and finds out the truth about who her parents are. As wars between Yamatai and Kuna increase, Toyo's illness progresses. When approached by Kyubey, she makes a contract to become a great leader like her mother. Shortly after, Himiko dies from a disease which had been progressively weakening and disfiguring her, and Toyo becomes the new Queen of Yamatai.[66]
- Contrary to the original universe, it appears that Himiko was not a magical girl in this universe.
11th Century CE

Dolma grows impatient with the Lama’s delay in holding the ritual with Lord Jataka, leading to a rebellion within the nunnery. When the northern nunnery is destroyed, survivors seek refuge, and the Lama decides to evacuate, canceling the ritual and further angering Dolma. As Mongolian soldiers approach, Heruka plans to surrender to minimize casualties, but Dolma charges into battle. Heruka intervenes, forcing the Mongols to retreat. Despite the victory, Heruka knows the Mongols will return, and the Lama and other adults leave the nunnery.[68]
- Heruka fends off the Mongol invasion by playing the part of the villainous rakshasi and gets executed.[69]
15th Century CE

16th Century CE
- Around 1540, when Lord Sumiya plans to cut down the sacred tree of the Mizuna Clan, Tsuyu becomes enraged. Her father, Masatsuna, advises her to strategize, and they spread rumors of divine punishment to deter Sumiya. Kyubey offers Tsuyu a contract to become a Battle Shamaness, granting her powers to protect the tree. She accepts, intervenes when Sumiya’s men attempt to cut the tree, and convinces Sumiya to abandon his plans. Tsuyu reveals her transformation to her father and Gen'un, who eventually accept her new role.[72]
- When Kosho craftsmen are attacked and their goods stolen by the Kumai Clan, Chizuru investigates Suitoku Temple, where the weapons are rumored to be stored. She is ambushed, poisoned, and captured by Gen’un, who accuses her of theft. Kyubey offers her a contract to become a magical girl, and she wishes for the strength to defeat Gen’un. With her new powers, she overwhelms him, escapes, and reunites with Saemon. They compensate the craftsmen with gold stolen from the Kumai Clan, ensuring their survival during the famine.[73]
- The land of Soma is plagued by famine, and peasants rebel against the nobility, demanding debt relief. Tsuyu defends her clan’s sacred tree from the angry mob, and promises to persuade her father, Masatsuna Mizuna, to enact a debt moratorium. Meanwhile, Chizuru is also fighting to protect her people. She denies Tsuyu’s accusations of the Taito, and the two clash until Chizuru leaves. Masatsuna Mizuna forgives debts and reduces the annual tribute to 10%, straining the Mizuna Clan’s finances but providing some relief to the people. However, the Sango Clan begins violently collecting taxes. Tsuyu intervenes but is dismissed by the Sango lord. She prepares for battle against the Taito Gang, intending to recover stolen goods to offset the financial losses from the debt moratorium. During the battle, Tsuyu and Chizuru face off, both severely wounding each other. As they lie dying, Tsuyu's magpie appears and Chziuru reveals a letter bearing the Mizuna Clan’s seal, proving their clans were once allies. Tsuyu begins to question her beliefs about the Taito Gang and realizes they may not be the villains she thought.[74]
- As Tsuyu and Chizuru recover, they uncover a conspiracy orchestrated by Gen'un and Kumai to kill Lord Sumiya and seize power. The two work together to expose the plot, rallying the other clans against Kumai and Gen'un. During the final confrontation, Chizuru and her father, Saemon Banshu, reveal the truth to Sumiya and the allied forces. The clans turn against Kumai and Gen'un, leading to their defeat and capture. With the conspiracy exposed, the famine’s root cause is addressed in Soma.[74]
- Tsuyu and Chizuru discuss the ongoing famine and tensions over resources. Tsuyu opposes conflict and suggests expanding trade. A dispute over water rights between Mizuna and foreign farmers escalates, with Tsuyu identifying a forged document. She volunteers for an iron-branded oath to settle the dispute, using her powers to protect herself. Her success proves her claim, and the foreign farmer admits the forgery. Tsuyu reveals her father had already negotiated a water-sharing agreement, resolving the conflict. Chizuru questions the necessity of the oath, but Tsuyu explains it serves as a deterrent, as her Battle Shammaness powers protect her regardless.[72]
- The two attend a dance performance at Mizuna Shrine, but Chizuru disappears. Tsuyu learns of a mass suicide attempt by a performance troupe under a Demon’s influence. She battles the Demon and finds Chizuru, who had been fighting it alone. Chizuru admits she felt neglected and wanted Tsuyu to protect her, so they reconcile, with Tsuyu promising to be more attentive and Chizuru to communicate better.[72]
- Chizuru and Tsuyu are asked to watch a baby while the mother prepares medicine. While playing with the baby, he is suddenly kidnapped. They track the kidnapper, a former Taito Gang member, and return the baby to his mother and capture the kidnapper.[73]
- Chizuru is warned to limit Tsuyu’s involvement in Taito Gang affairs. She overhears her father discussing a potential marriage arrangement with the Mizuna Clan, which shocks her. Tsuyu confides her own struggles with her father’s expectations for marriage, and Chizuru confronts her father, only to learn he was joking about the arrangement. Both agree to focus on their duties and enjoy their freedom.[73]
- Lord Mizuna's distrust of the easterners leads proposed a deceptive treaty to disband the eastern clan by scattering its members under the guise of granting them land. San'emon Banshu saw the treaty as a ploy and secretly allied with a foreign power to overthrow the Mizuna Clan. A staged assassination attempt on Lord Mizuna escalated tensions and both sides prepared for war. Tsuyu and Chizuru opposed their fathers’ plans, and during a battle, they pretended to fight while secretly plotting to use their combined power to force a ceasefire. They clashed swords with overwhelming force, creating a shockwave to scatter soldiers and halt the fighting. San'emon Banshu hired a foreign army to invade Mizuna territory during peace talks, and assasinated Masatsune Mizuna using a hidden firearm. Tsuyu, devastated by her father’s death, confronted Chizuru on the battlefield and a hidden sniper shot Tsuyu mid-battle. Chizuru, unable to stop her attack, accidentally struck Tsuyu. Tsuyu, convinced she'd been betrayed, becomes a witch. [75]

- Asuka Tatsuki becomes a magical girl to have her cousin become a police officer.
- Mitama Yakumo becomes a magical girl.
- On the same day that Mitama makes her wish, Mikoto becomes the Mirror Witch in front of Hanna. Due to her new transplant magic, before turning into a witch Mikoto transplants her consciousness into Hanna's mind, but doesn't initially awaken. Hanna is devastated from the truth about witches. She decides to rebel against the magical girl system, controlling witches and spreading ruin in Kamihama.[80]
- Likely during this time, Yumeno Yusa, or Yu, attempts a lover's suicide with Kei Seto by jumping off a cliff while strangling each other. Kei dies but Yu herself manages to live. Yu goes back to school, though depressed by Kei's death, while Kei's spirit gets tangled with that of a witch. Yu's approached by Kyubey and makes the wish to become so crazy, she forgets who she is.
